Open house

SkylightEvery year, at the end of September, many public and private buildings open their doors so that more people can experience London’s diverse architecture. Designers, architects and non-professionals can take a look at famous buildings as well as presidential properties for ideas, inspirations and insights of history. This coming weekend you can choose from 699 buildings around the capital, so it’s time to plan your itinerary!..

Here at Forlook we are mainly interested in residential buildings so these are the ones we’d like to have a peek at!

  • 2B Pilgrim’s Lane, Kentish Town
  • 10 Queen St Place, City
  • 2 Carmarthen Place, London Bridge

For more details such as opening times, full address and how to get there go to the Open House homepage. Please note: some of these buildings have to be pre-booked, but you can now do so online! Also some are only open on Saturdays, others on Sundays, so do plan your schedule carefully!

Also, even if you’re mainly interested in residential architecture, check out what else is open in your area or the area you want to visit your chosen buildings - you never know, you might find some other really fascinating architecture to enjoy! On the website you can search by postcode and/or the types of buildings you like.

Finally, let’s hope that the weather will be kind and allow us to have a lovely architectural weekend! Enjoy!

Just a correction– 2b Pilgrims Lane is in Hampstead– not Kentish Town.
