Wall covering
As I mentioned in my previous posts regarding wallpaper, the new trend is to have unique or customised wall covering. Here are a couple of suggestions:
Instead of wallpaper, use stickers or images like this hanger on your wall:

Check out Marmarco for other ideas. Alternatively stencil large images such as cherry tree twigs, large palms leaves or geometric objects directly onto the wall.
Create panels and cover them with gorgeous wallpaper. Home & Book sell luxurious silk wallpaper - we love their Maehwa design. It’s not cheap, but think of it as a piece of art rather than wallpaper. If these wall coverings would blow your budget, check out Housecouturier’s bespoke wall art and unique wallpapers - these are a bit cheaper but still look amazing.
Another way to create a fantastic focus wall is to paint it with a striking colour then hang a panel of sheer fabric or a laser-cut screen in front of it. Habitat’s Fringe curtain panels or Ikea’s sliding sheer panels are ideal for this. If you want something a bit more unique, Elites can create you a laser-cut screen that can be used against a wall to reveal a background colour.
For kids & teens rooms we highly recommend Eijffinger’s digitally printed wallcoverings. These large (about 260×235cm) images can be attached to one wall of your nursery or child’s room. They provide a wide range of digital prints - I’m sure you’ll be able to find something suitable and fantastic. Here is an example:

Using unique wall coverings can create a focus feature in a space - but be careful! Choose something that is not overpowering. Also, if you decide on large bold images, opt for simple, natural furniture to complement the wall covering.
Remember: these types of wall covering should be used on one wall only - the other walls ought to be decorated with simple and subdued wallpaper or paint.

Hi
Just read your blog with interest and wanted to let you know about a new company we have just set up in the UK called Better Wallpaper. Our product is digitally printed wallpaper directly from an uploaded image of your choice. We have a specialist printing process in Stockholm, Sweden which is capable of scaling up any image (4Mb or larger) to any size with no pixellation.
Go have a look and tell us what you think…….
Thanks
Julie
