When we decide to sell our house we naturally are no longer inclined to invest further resources into it – but any money or time spent on preparing a property for sale is well worth it in terms of return. A freshly decorated interior is more attractive to everyone – it sells your house much faster. It costs very little to clear the clutter, rearrange the furniture, put away your personal stuff and do a good spring-clean. Extra items needed to stage your sale can be hired, borrowed or bought and then move with you.
Decorating properties to let is very different to decorating your own home. To attract the most interest from potential tenants many issues need to be considered: easy maintenance, stylish but not precious furnishing, simple lines, clean colours and sensible materials. ForLook can design a feasible scheme for your property to let out that will look stylish and inviting but not cost you too much. We can offer a one-off consultancy or a full staging service where we redesign and redecorate the property to appeal to appropriate tenants. A “refreshing” design service between tenancies is also available.
We visit the property and analyse its presentation. We advise on how to enhance or change areas and details. We make recommendations, suggest finishes and offer solutions according to budget, timescale and the level of improvements needed. All our suggestions will be put in writing and sent to you for your consideration
After the initial consultation, if the property needs no major redecoration, a styling day can be arranged when we help to put together all the suggested ideas. Before the styling day we either resource all details, elements and finishes or we take you on a shopping trip to choose them
This package is more comprehensive including illustrations, samples, CAD drawings, specs. We research and source furnishings, appliances, materials, finishes as appropriate. If it is necessary, we arrange storage, hire furniture for staging, hire decorators & builders and monitor their work
one-off consultancy: £50.00.
one day styling: £250 (extra charges may apply for time spent on drawings, sourcing items, arranging workmen & services etc)
